Joining the Conversation
Over a year we have been listening carefully to our customers and the community and in this period we have learned many things which have allowed us to improve our products and services.
Today we continue these efforts by joining the conversation. This blog is intended to be a timely and accessible alternative to more formal channels of communication. We intend it to be a place where we can share our comments, ideas and insights in an informal way and have a productive and candid dialog. We will continue to listen, as well as engage in a two-way communication.
In the coming days and weeks you can expect to see more information appear on this blog, in the meantime make sure to check out our doctrine here and let us know what you think of the i-to-i blog.

Hi Karel!
Nice to see you launch your iRex blog. I am anxious to read more about the wicked internal thoughts of underpaid and overtired iRex employees.
Best wishes

This is a great idea. I look forward to hearing more candid thoughts, and further communication from iRrex.
This has definitely been added to my feed subscription.

I just noticed I was on the blogroll. Sweet! Thanks for adding me.
goody is a joiner, too.
Thanks guys and no problem Adam, your blog contains interesting stuff, especially the developments on the iLiad.
The back cover in V1 was a flaw in design apparent from first use. iRex should offer to send a replace cover (with a screw-driver)to its customers at a reasonable price.
Regards
Sorry, I typed wrong the website
I strongly agree with Buitrago, Send us the backcover, the new battery and screwdriver. I am more that willing to upgrade my iliad V1 to V2. Please take this seriously. Let me know via e-mail and I will send you my physical address.
How is the back cover flawed? Is that related to people who have been having problems with their screen?
I always assumed the back cover was changed for aesthetic reasons only…
The redesign of the back cover was partly for aesthetic reasons and practical reasons. The later to remedy the instability that some users experienced while taking notes on the iLiad when it was placed at a flat surface.
However not only the back cover has been redesigned, also the inside of the casing has been improved to offer better support to the display and the electronics in order to reduce the risk of breakage.
So unfortunately it is not as easy as to just replace the back cover and the battery.
So when can we expect an update on refunds for those of us that were misled into purchasing an iliad with the promise of huge battery-life.
Particularly given that you admit that the battery replacement still will not give us anywhere near the original specified battery life.
Battery replacement action.
Although I signed for the battery replacement action I do not like to send my Iliad to the servicecenter.
Why not sending the batteries to my address. I am more than capable to take care of the replacement myself.
Loosing the quarantee is a non-issue for me.
Nice to see Irex making an effort to communicate with thier customers. . . Frankly, the money could better be used in an effort to provide decent customer support.
@Gigi I agree with you and I am happy to let you know that we are currently working on that and hope to offer additional and better customer support in the near future.

Hello Karel,
thank you very much for starting this blog, finally if I can say. It was always hard for me to understand why iRex is not putting more effort in connecting with the community. I see your efforts in the forum and really appreciate them. Tell the iRex managers (and likely the controllers) that it is essential to connect more with the community.
I am having problems with libresco (the uk agent). After my card
details were processed (not before) I was informed that delivery
would take up to 21 days although they usually deliver faster.
I ordered the Ireader on the 30th November,as a xmas present, I
have emailed libresco on several occassions to ascertain the
delivery date and they have not bothered to reply. Has anyone else had dealings with this company
I have a few questions, perhaps this is not the place, but I launch them here anyway.
1. I am wondering why I should bye an Iliad or other reading-device, if for the same price I can have a portable which I can use to do the same stuff, and more?
Or am I wrong?
-It is up to You to convince me-
2. The iliad seems a very nice tool, as I like to do some reading on the train, are french books available?
