Sony's response to the Kindle?

got out about a Sony Reader event in New York on October 2. The title on the invitations reads: “Join Sony Electronics as we open a new chapter on digital reading”. There was no word on whether this involves launching a next-gen electronic book reader.

Either way it seems that Sony isn’t quite ready to cede the e-book markt to Amazon’s Kindle, who with its wireless download capabilities clearly has an advantage over the better looking Sony Reader.

However, this could be totally unrelated, but earlier this year Sony issued a statement that by the end of 2010 they want to ensure that 90% of their electronics product categories will be network enabled and wireless-capable, so this might just be the response of Sony to the success of the Amazon Kindle: a wireless enabled Sony Reader.

Hey Great Article here. I like the fact that you cover about E-Readers I think really think the Barnes and Noble nook is a solid e-reader. You look at the operating system which is google android. It allows allot of cool apps down the road with the open source community. I think in the current generation if you are into E-INK it is all about the Nook
I think someone mentioned the notion Ink-ADAM I read about this on a good E-Reader Blog It seems to destroy the I-PAD In terms of being a touch screen tablet. I like how it is multi-task, Firefox compatible and that it does flash.
I read on a E-Reader Forum I forget the name, but people where talking about a few new e-readers coming out, like the Samsung E-reader and the new Asus 950. I don’t know I follow e-readers allot and I think these are two pure e-ink to look forward to
