- Annotations made using v2.0-beta software may show up at a different scale or location.
- Not all (new) GUI texts have been translated into all supported languages yet.
Manual Download and Installation Instructions (all operating systems)
You will have to manually download the firmware update and extract it onto your SD card. Please follow these steps:
- Download the update ZIP file from http://updates.irexnet.com/beta/ (choose the dr800 directory and the correct file for your device type)
- Extract/copy the contents of this ZIP file to the root of your SD card (either while connected via USB, or by inserting the SD card into your PC’s card reader).
Make sure that the System folder in the ZIP is extracted to the root of the card, creating a folder called ‘update’ inside your existing System folder on the SD card. - Put the SD card into your device or disconnect the USB cable.
- The device will detect the new firmware and ask to install it. Choose [Yes].
- The update procedure will start and automatically complete, your device will reboot with the new firmware.
- You can verify the new firmware version in Settings > Device Information.

many thanks for your work. it would be great if you add russian language too for dr800sg.
Big Bug:
PDF: Right side of page will be cut off a little (approx 10px), if content is too near the right edge, you won’t see it!!
Try over 5 different PDF file and reset system settings, nothing changed.
2.0beta 0408 doesn’t have this bug.
Just installed and tried on some PDF files, the feeling is mixed:
Pros:
Within all the mentioned improvements on the official blog, page turning speed for scanned PDF is indeed improved, stylus is not that super sensitive as in the beta firmware.
Cons:
1. PDF cut-off on the right side and bottom side. See attached pdf file along with the actual effect.
2. Zoom level of documents got screwed up. If you have a PDF file viewed in zoom mode in the beta firmware, open it now in the RC1 firmware, it is probably 2x of the original zoom level.
3. Flipbar in pan mode is still miserable. Maybe IREX thinks this is not as important as other bugs/features? All I want is: in pan mode, when the bottom of a file is met, pushing the flipbar forward should turn to the top of next page. Not a complicate change at all.
4. Why do I have to set the date and time on every reboot?
If it’s fully functional and feature-complete, why is it an RC?
“There is no way to merge or export Notes and Scribbles for usage on a PC” means that I am still stuck with my old iRex iLiad. I need to send the corrected work from my students back to them.
I can’t make notes in the pdf i am reading, it is because this option is not available? is there any chance to be implemented in a near future? Thanks

Thanks for this RC. As mentioned before, I too noticed that after zooming in on a PDF and than switching to PAN mode to allign the view-port, you can no longer move to the next page using the flipbar. Using the menu at the bottom of the screen still works as expected. Work around : switch after PAN to RESIZE mode and you can use the flipbar again.
Can IREX tell us why the “page view continuous” mode is disabled on DR800 while enabled on DR1000?

I bought the IREX sg800 to deal with technical pdfs and manuals. The native pdf viewer still needs improvement before I would recommend it as a solution.
1) In landscape mode, it does not make sense to have “fit to screen” scale a page by it’s vertical dimensions. Fit to screen should scale the document based on it’s horizontal dimensions and let you flip over to the next half of the page.
2) Take a look at techpdf- it’s in beta and is much more useful for reading pdf documents. It has a two column reading mode that works pretty well for journal articles.
3) Bug: I zoomed a pdf and now all of my pdf documents are cut off on the right hand side.
4) Page turning while zoomed- The flip bar should always move you to the next screen full. The stylus should not be necessary to get to the next page.

Hi,
With this software (and with the RC3 that I’ve just downloaded and installed on my DR800SG), there’s LESS contrast on my device than with the beta software installed in April/May (by Billy, from Irex). Is it the case with anyone here ? Guys from Irex, is there something I can do about that? Does anyone could send this previous software that was, from my point of view, more readable ?
Good luck with your financial problems, I hope that with the best product on the market, you should be able to deal with these hard times.
